A favorite among everyone from first time rafters to whitewater enthusiasts.
The Lower New River steps up the pace with exciting whitewater rafting and over 25 rapids from Classes II – V. Between the rapids and drops there are pools of calm water where you can catch your breath and gather strength for the next challenge. This trip runs through the scenic New River Gorge, and finishes up right below the New River Gorge Bridge.
Trip length and intensity varies based on water levels which change throughout the season. In the spring, the trip is usually 16 miles long, in the summer and fall it is typically 11 miles long. Both trips include a jump rock, swimmer’s rapid, riverside lunch, and over 25 other rapids.
The autumn foliage makes for a spectacular backdrop as you float by the New River Gorge, with base jumpers jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge on Bridge Day, October 19, 2019 .
This is our most popular trip, and a favorite among everyone from first time rafters to whitewater enthusiasts.

What a great Holiday weekend! The weather was a little “iffy” at the beginner, but shaped up to be cold & snowy in the end.. A big THANK YOU to All of our groups that hung in there and took the journey. 50+ group traveled to Snowshoe, Winterplace, Sugar, Beech, Cataloochee, Wolf Ridge and Perfect North. It was a busy weekend, but “good busy”! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the slopes in 2021!
