What a great Holiday weekend! The weather was a little “iffy” at the beginner, but shaped up to be cold & snowy in the end.. A big THANK YOU to All of our groups that hung in there and took the journey. 50+ group traveled to Snowshoe, Winterplace, Sugar, Beech, Cataloochee, Wolf Ridge and Perfect North. It was a busy weekend, but “good busy”! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the slopes in 2021!

"While the timing, extent and magnitude of the cold air is uncertain at this point, enough cold air is possible allow the first snow showers of the season around the Great Lakes and perhaps into the central and northern Appalachians," Pastelok said.

The anticipated cold push may bring daytime highs in the lower 40s to the lower 50s over a broad area of the Midwest and interior Northeast during part of the fourth week of October.

"We do not see any one pattern, including cold and snow locking in just yet," Pastelok said.

"Expect more swings in temperature and weather conditions into early November, or typical autumn mood swings for much of the eastern half of the nation," Pastelok said.
